Caltech Dining Services (CDS), a division of CABS, is an
award winning operation. The NACUFS
(National Association of College and University Food Services)
annual Loyal E. Horton Dining Award recognizes excellence
in university food services across North America. Categories
include Residence Hall Dining- Standard Menu, Residence
Hall Dining- Special Event/Theme Dinner, Catering- Standard
Menu, Catering- Special Event, Retail Sales- Single Stand-Alone
Concept/Outlet, and Retail Sales- Multiple Concepts/Outlets.
CDS has entered several categories of
the Loyal E. Horton award for the past six years. Each of
these years, CDS has taken home several awards.
CDS prides itself in bringing the best possible
service to the Caltech/JPL family of students, faculty and staff. Being
part of NACUFS and the Loyal E. Horton Dining Award is a highlight of the
year and brings high standards of service.
The Loyal E. Horton award has several strict judging criteria to qualify
as a university dining program. These criteria, ranging from Menu Selection
and Marketing to Nutritional Soundness and Presentation, are used as a foundation
to build and bring excellent services to our customers.
CDS has been recognized by NACUFS for the
past six years and is honored to receive the Loyal E. Horton Dining Award
